Do the Patriots have what it takes to run for another super bowl title? Many fans have asked this since September. While their 8-5 record makes them a playoff bound and potential superbowl contender again, some of their losses this season question their ability to finish games. The Patriots have lost to the Jets, Broncos, Colts, Saints and Dolphins this season. Three of those losses came after leading most of the game. The Dolphins game might be the worst loss of the season because not only were they ahead, they lost to a team behind them in the standings.
Things looked promising for the Patriots in October, most notably after the 59-0 victory over Tennessee on a snowy afternoon. However, three losses in four weeks have allowed the Dolphins and Jets to contend for a playoff spot.
I think the Patriots will be competitive in the post-season again this year, but they will most likely have to beat the presently undefeated Colts to make it to the Super Bowl.
